Forgotten perspectives of Sincerity

Bismillaah
Whenever we address the issue of Sincerity, we deal at the level of Da’wah and Da’ee. We speak about importance of being sincere to Allaah azza wajal in Da’wah. At the same time, we have to realize the audience whom we are addressing in majority are not Da’ees. Most of them are common people. They need other perspectives of Sincerity to be taught to them. It doesn’t mean I am saying that Sincerity from Da’ee perspective is trivial. As it is important, sincerity that affects common masses are equally important as well.
Many social ills are because of lack of sincerity to Allaah azza wajal. Why a person backbites? If he is sincere, he will rather correct whom he backbites than backbiting to others.
If something good happens to his fellow brother, person will be happy because he is sincere to Allaah and loves the person for the sake of Allaah (Brotherhood). In contrast, if a person is not sincere, he will cry with himself why the good is happening to his brother, not to him and not to his family
Sincerity affects one’s Eeman, one’s Ethics, one’s relationship and on and on. On this note, I feel we need to educate people about Sincerity from different perspectives and angles bi-ithnillaah
Subhanallaah, All these perspectives will definitely help one to understand how Islaam made Sincerity among the pillars of Ibaadah which in turn constitutes to foundation of the Deen.
I cannot better summarize without quoting Imam Sufyan ath Thauree (rahimmahullaa)
“I never nursed anything more rebellious except Sincerity”
Bring it in your life (Action Steps):
As an exercise, observe your day today with people being conscious of Sincerity and its impact. Insha allaah, it will tell you where you have to develop yourself and where you have to help others. If possible share here the common mistakes done by people which they commit because of lack of Sincerity
Fond Regards,
Umar Shariff
